Colledimezzo is a small hill  village of medieval origin located in an abutment which the whole Sangro Valley, right to the Sangro lake.

This picturesque village has , in his basilic named after St John apostle and evangelist, dating back to the 1700s, one of the most important paintings of Abruzzo: "Madonna col bambino, san Francesco d'Assisi e il donatore" masterpiece by Tanzio da Varallo who had Caravaggio as teacher .
